History
Federal Way is the fifth largest city in King County and the ninth largest in the state. The city originated as a logging town located by Federal Highway 99 or as we know it, Pacific Highway. In 1929, the name Federal Way was coined when Federal Way School District was formed. The following year, Federal Way High School opened. In 1950, the Chamber of commerce officially adopted its name and incorporated as a city in 1950. More can be found here on the history of the city.
